TEHRAN (IRNA) – Commander of the Islamic Republic Army Major General Ata’ollah Salehi said on Sunday that the Iranian Army possessed the technology to produce advanced aircraft and would demonstrate its powerful presence even in the open seas in a near future.
Addressing a number of graduated cadets in a regular army academy downtown Tehran, the major general said that the progress made by Iranian experts in producing advanced defensive weapons has stemmed from the strong will and faith of the Iranian nation.Referring to the threats made against Iran, particularly during the several past years, Salehi said, most of those threats were triggered by outsiders.
He stressed that enemies were afraid of the Islamic Iran because of its deterrent power which would serve both the Islamic world and all freedom-seekers of the globe.
Salehi went on to say that the Iranian army is ready to confront any form of enemy’s “soft threat.”
He said enemies’ war against Iran has not been over yet but was, instead, continuing in new forms such as soft threats and psychological warfare.
Salehi stated that although the eight years of imposed war against Iran was finished and all terrorist attacks and threats of the past against the country’s Islamic system have come to an end, enemies have not yet abandoned hostility towards Iran.
Salehi’s comments came a few days ahead of the National Army Day which is to be held in the country on April 18.
